We welcome submissions by all members of the TACUSPA community, regardless of background, identities, ability, or career phase. Please read the information below and prepare a written proposal in .PDF format.
 
PROPOSAL INFORMATION NEEDED FOR BLIND REVIEW:
1. Research purpose.
2. Research methodology, including research question(s) and method(s) for collecting and analyzing data.
3. Statement of how the research will contribute to the knowledge base and be of value to Texas student personnel administration and/or faculty, students, and institutions.
4. An itemized budget estimate.
5. A statement of whether the research has been or will be submitted for Internal Review Board (IRB) approval.
6. A properly cited reference list.

PLEASE NOTE:
  • Applicants must be a current TACUSPA member. To join, visit www.tacuspa.net/memberships.
  • Proposals must be written in APA format (7th edition).
  • Proposals should be limited to 2,500 words. This word count excludes the budget information, IRB description, and proposal reference list.
  • To provide “blind” review, DO NOT include author names in the proposal. Furthermore, identifying information should be anonymized in the file data (authorship). Submit researcher(s) name(s) and qualifications in a separate document. Please also include researcher(s’) institution if it is different than IRB sponsorship.
  • Proposals must be submitted via this application form in .PDF format.
PROPOSAL BLIND REVIEW PROCESS:
The Research Development Grant Application Review Committee will review applications in August/September. Applicants will be notified of the committee’s decision by September 15. The grant recipient will be awarded a check and will be recognized at the https://www.tacuspa.net/Conference. By accepting grant funding of up to $1,000, the recipient agrees to (a) present the sponsored scholarship at an annual fall conference within two years of award the offer, (b) submit key research findings for publication in the TACUSPA newsletter and/or journal, and (c) sign agreements regarding compliance with TACUSPA policies, terms of the award, and compliance with IRB requirements.

PROPOSAL EVALUATION CRITERIA:
1. Purpose of the research.
2. Soundness of the research design.
3. Relevance of research to college student personnel administration work, generalizability or transferability, and usefulness of findings to others, especially Texas higher education colleagues.
4. Originality, creativity, and coherence of overall project.
5. Writing quality (e.g., compliance with APA 7th edition style, meaningful citations, appropriate writing style, etc.).
