The Texas Association of College and University Student Personnel Administrators (TACUSPA) enhances higher education and student success by cultivating relationships and engagement that promote leadership development among current and aspiring student affairs practitioners and scholars. Below you will find new strategic initiatives designed to advance the mission.  

TACUSPA@Work (Strategic Goal #2)

TACUSPA@Work is a 6-week virtual institute guided by TACUSPA’s core values: Development, Advocacy, and Networking. The TACUSPA@Work Institute will include monthly panel discussions and cohort-based activities designed to engage members in meaningful ways to assist in their leadership development and growth.

Goals:

  • Participants will engage in meaningful interactions with other members of the profession.
  • Participants will strengthen their self-awareness through guided reflections and activities.
  • Participants will explore diverse perspectives related to professional development.

Month 1: February (Development)

  • Panel: Tales of Professional Development: An Exploration of Pathways, Wednesday, February 10, 2021, 12:00-1:00 P.M.
  • Cohort Meeting: Exploring Your Professional Strengths and Weaknesses, Wednesday, February 24, 2021, 12:00-1:00 P.M.

Month 2: March (Advocacy)

  • Panel: Streams to Rivers: Social Justice within the Profession, Wednesday, March 10, 2021, 12:00-1:00 P.M.
  • Cohort Meeting: Examining How Your Work Promotes Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Access, Wednesday, March 24, 2021, 12:00-1:00 P.M.

Month 3: April (Networking)

  • Panel: Circle of Influence: Understanding the Power of Your Network, Wednesday, April 14, 2021, 12:00-1:00 P.M.
  • Cohort Meeting: Developing Your Personal Leadership Cabinet, Wednesday, April 28, 2021, 12:00-1:00 P.M.


TACUSPA Resume Exchange (Strategic Goal #2)


TACUSPA is excited to host a winter break resume exchange! Members are invited to submit their resumes for review by another TACUSPA member. All submitters must agree to serve as a reviewer.

Timeline:

  • Resumes collected for review: December 10th – December 24th
  • Resumes distributed to reviewers: Week of December 28th
  • Reviewed resumes due to TACUSPA: January 15th
  • Reviewed resumes returned to submitters: Week of January 18th



TACUSPA Café (Strategic Goal #3)

TACUSPA Cafés are designed to provide members an opportunity gather virtually to discuss relevant issues impacting campuses and the communities they serve. During these events members are split into smaller breakout sessions to engage in informal discussions. Once complete, all groups reconvene and summarize their discussions with the larger group. These collaborative events create opportunities for networking and promote of knowledge exchange among the membership.
